So ends this short mini-chapter! I dubbed it 1.5, since it was originally part of Chapter 2.
Helvetica will be going on a mini hiatus while I get some stuff sorted out! I’m moving out of my house and I need to get that taken care of, as well as some other business. When Helvetica comes back, it will have an all-new page format! I’m switching from horizontal (the layout right now) to a more traditional, vertical page format! It will make things easier and better in the long run for me.

Otakon was such fun times. Thanks to everyone who hung out with me and came to see me. Shout out to Taylor, who just started a fantastic comic called Monsterkind. I got to meet her and draw with her a little bit and she’s great and Monsterkind is great and you should read it!
In Helvetica news, I have plans to end this chapter early and call it “Chapter 1.5”. Why? I’m going to be switching up the comic layout to the traditional vertical page format! This will make it easier for me in the long run, and will possibly lead to more than 1 comic a week.

so I read a post somewhere on tumblr that subconsciously stuck in my brain saying that Autumn from Helvetica was a boy and not a girl. SOURCES have since proved me wrong but its .. it’s one of those “once you see it you can’t unsee it” things, haha…

oh my gosh, it actually makes me incredibly happy that people are unsure of the genders of my characters. it’s happened with Lucy, which is kind of understandable given his name, but when it happened to Autumn too, I was really pleasantly surprised? I’m just happy my characters come off as so androgynous.

THIS IS A POST ABOUT OTAKON!!
So I’m going to be at Otakon this weekend!! Here’s the awesome low-down:
- I’m not going to have an artists table, I’m just going to be hanging out! So if you see me, say hi! I’ll draw something for you!
- I’m going to be cosplaying as a human Spades Slick most of the weekend. But I’ll also be running around in normal clothes too. You might see me at a Homestuck meetup??
- There is going to be a Helvetica MeetUp Saturday night around 7 PM on the 4th floor, above Registration.
- If the above doesn’t go as planned, we’ll figure something out and hopefully move somewhere that isn’t crowded or something. I’ve never been to Otakon so I’m playing this by ear. Anyway, we’ll hang out, chat, and I’ll draw something for you if you stop by!!
